Privacy Policy - Pocket Recorder
Last updated: October 23, 2026
1. Overview
Pocket Recorder ("the App") is an audio recording application for Android provided by NoFutureApps ("we," "our," or "us"). The App lets you record audio, play, rename, edit and share your recordings. Your recordings stay on your device. We do not upload, store, listen to or have access to your recordings.
The App does not require an account and does not show ads.
2. Your Recordings
- The App records audio only after you start a recording (in the App, from its notification or from its home screen widget). While recording, Android shows a recording notification.
- Recordings are saved as audio files in the Recordings/PocketRecorder folder on your device (on Android 10 and 11 — Music/PocketRecorder). They are visible in your file manager and over USB, like any other audio file.
- Recordings are never sent to us or to any third party by the App. They leave your device only if you share them yourself (for example, through the Android share menu) or copy them off the device.
- Editing (trimming, normalizing, fading) is performed entirely on your device.
- To recover a recording after an unexpected interruption, the App keeps a small local note about the recording in progress. It is stored only on your device.
3. Permissions
- Microphone — to record audio. Requested the first time you start a recording.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later) — to show the recording notification with Pause and Stop controls.
- Audio files (optional) — only if you choose "Allow access" to show recordings made before the App was reinstalled.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
4. Information We Collect
Anonymous usage data. If "Share anonymous usage data" is turned on in the App's Settings (it is on by default), the App sends anonymous usage events through Google Firebase Analytics, for example: the App was opened, a recording was started or saved (with the chosen preset, audio format and an approximate duration range), the upgrade screen was shown. These events are linked to a random identifier that Firebase creates for this installation of the App (it is not linked to your name, email or Google account) and never include your recordings, their content or their file names. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
Crash reports. If the App crashes, technical information about the crash (device model, Android version, App version and the error details) may be sent through Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the problem. Crash reports do not include your recordings.
Purchases. If you buy Pocket Recorder PRO, the purchase is processed by Google Play. We use RevenueCat to confirm and restore your purchase. RevenueCat receives the purchase details from Google Play (such as the product, the purchase date and an anonymous app user ID). We do not receive or store your payment card details.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or precise location. The App does not use your device's advertising ID, does not show ads and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google Play — app distribution and payments (Google Privacy Policy).
- Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics — anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Firebase privacy information).
- RevenueCat — purchase verification and restoring purchases (RevenueCat Privacy Policy).
6. Legal Basis and International Transfers
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on: our legitimate interest in keeping the App stable and improving it (anonymous usage data and crash reports, which you can switch off for usage data in Settings); and the performance of a contract when you buy PRO (verifying and restoring your purchase).
Google and RevenueCat may process this data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. These providers use safeguards required by law for such transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your recordings stay on your device until you delete them in the App or with a file manager. Uninstalling the App does not delete recordings in the PocketRecorder folder.
- Uninstalling the App removes its settings and presets from your device.
- Anonymous analytics data is kept by Google Firebase according to its retention settings and is then deleted automatically.
- Your purchase record is kept by Google Play and RevenueCat so that you can restore PRO after reinstalling the App.
To ask us about any data related to you, email nofutureapps@gmail.com.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. Because the App does not identify you, we may not be able to link analytics data to you. You can stop analytics at any time with the "Share anonymous usage data" switch in Settings. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion; we do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law. For any request, contact us at the email below.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
11. Contact Us
