Privacy Policy — Pocket Links

This Privacy Policy describes how NoFutureApps ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you use the "Pocket Links" mobile application and related services, including optional Google sign-in, optional Google Drive backup, and the paid Sync subscription.

Pocket Links can be used without an account. Creating an account (via Google Sign-In) and purchasing a Sync subscription are optional and enable cloud backup and synchronization of your data across your devices. Backing up to your own Google Drive is also optional and works independently of any account or subscription. If you do not enable any of these, your links stay only on your device.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Content you create in the app: your links, folders, and tags.
  • Your name and email address, obtained through Google Sign-In when you choose to create an account. Sign-in is required only to purchase and use the paid Sync subscription.
  • Feedback and support messages you send us.

1.2 Subscription information

  • Your subscription status and purchase validation are processed through Google Play and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Google Play.

1.3 Information collected automatically

  • A device identifier and your device's user agent, used to recognize your devices for synchronization, maintain security, and diagnose issues.
  • Access to your device storage, used solely to export and import your bookmarks.
  • Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics) and basic diagnostic information, used to keep the app stable.

1.4 Clipboard

If you paste a link into the app, that content is processed locally on your device only. We do not read, transmit, or monitor your clipboard in the background.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • provide the core functionality of the app — saving and organizing your links;
  • authenticate you through Google Sign-In when you create an account;
  • process and manage your Sync subscription;
  • back up your content to our servers and synchronize it across the devices where you are signed in (paid Sync feature);
  • upload encrypted backup files to your private Google Drive App Data Folder, when you enable Google Drive backup;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Cloud Backup and Multi-Device Sync (Paid Sync)

When you purchase a Sync subscription, we store a copy of your content — your links, folders, and tags — together with the account information associated with your Google sign-in, on our own backend servers. This allows us to keep a backup of your data and synchronize it across multiple devices when you sign in with the same Google account.

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on our servers in the European Union (Contabo). All communication between the app and our servers uses encrypted HTTPS connections. You can stop syncing at any time by cancelling your subscription and/or deleting your account, as described in Sections 7 and 8.

4. Google User Data

Pocket Links interacts with Google in two separate and independent ways. Each requires its own authorization, and you can use one without the other.

Google Sign-In (account and paid Sync). When you create an account, we access your Google email, basic profile (name), and account identifier — only to authenticate you and to link your subscription and backend backup to your account.

Google Drive backup (optional, standalone). Independently of any account or subscription, you can connect a Google account to back up your data to Google Drive. This uses a separate Google authorization. When you enable Google Drive backup, Pocket Links:

  • uploads encrypted backup files only to the private Google Drive App Data Folder it creates;
  • does not read, edit, or delete any other files in your Google Drive;
  • allows you to disable sync at any time;
  • allows you to revoke Google Drive access at any time in your Google Account settings.

Pocket Links' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically, information received from Google APIs is not sold; not used or transferred for advertising, including personalized or interest-based advertising; and not used to train or improve generalized AI or machine-learning models. We do not transfer this information to third parties such as advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers; we share it only with service providers who process it solely on our behalf to operate the app's features.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • On your device: your links are stored locally so the app works offline.
  • On our servers: if you subscribe to Sync, a copy of your content and basic account information is stored in a PostgreSQL database on our servers, located in the European Union (Contabo).
  • On Google Drive: if you enable Google Drive backup, encrypted backup files are stored in your own private Google Drive App Data Folder.

We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Google Sign-In, and your session is protected using secure, industry-standard authentication tokens. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • with the service providers who help us operate the app (see Section 9);
  • to comply with a legal request or obligation, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can:

  • access and correct your information within the app;
  • cancel your subscription through Google Play;
  • delete your account and all associated data stored on our servers (see Section 8);
  • disable Google Drive backup and revoke Pocket Links' access to your Google account in your Google Account settings.

Depending on your location (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may also have rights to data portability, restriction of processing, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.

8. Data Retention

  • Local data stays on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
  • Content backed up to our servers is retained while your subscription is active. If your subscription is cancelled or expires, your cloud backup is retained for 30 days so you can resume without data loss, after which it is deleted.
  • When you delete your account, all associated data — your links, folders, tags, settings, authentication tokens, and subscription information — is deleted immediately and permanently from our servers.

9. Third-Party Services

Pocket Links relies on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum information necessary for these services to function.

10. International Data Transfers

Your content and account data are stored on servers in the European Union (Contabo). Some service providers may process data elsewhere — for example, RevenueCat (subscription data) operates in the United States, and Google operates a global infrastructure. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect such transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Children's Privacy

Pocket Links is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Material changes will be announced via updates to the Pocket Links app, and the "Effective Date" above will be revised accordingly.
